In 1976 the Dolphin Camper Company invented the "micro-mini" motorhome making the Class "C" Dolphin their first motorhome. Ten years later the company name changed to National RV and introduced their first Class "A" motorhome and named it . . . Dolphin.
1987 Dolphin
Dolphin motorhomes available in four models in lengths of 27-feet, 31-feet, and 34-feet. Solid oak cabinets. The 27' model with twin bed floorplan was new for 1987.

The 1988 Dolphin is powered by a 454 CID V-8 Chevrolet gasoline engine on a GMC chassis or an optional Ford 460 CID V-8 gasoline engine on a John Deere chassis (3140,3150,3400,3450). Lengths ranged from 27-feet to 34-feet with seven floor plans available.

1991 Dolphin
The 1991 Dolphin is available with eleven floor plans, three of which offered twin beds. Lengths ranged from 26-feet to 38-feet 4-inches. The Dolphin is powered by a 460 CID V-8 Ford gasoline engine on Ford chassis or 454 CID V-8 Chevrolet gasoline engine on a Chevrolet chassis. The 35-foot 2-inch and 38-foot 4-inch floor plans are only available on the Chevrolet chassis. The largest floor plan was built on 38-foot 4-inch tag axle chassis.

1993 Dolphin
In 1993 National RV introduced the 32-foot 9-inch Dolphin Diesel Pusher Bus powered by a 190 HP Cummins 5.9L turbocharged diesel engine on a 18,340 pound GVWR Oshkosh XC-18RDX chassis or optionally a 230 HP cummins diesel engine on a XC-20RDX chassis.

1994 Dolphin
Newly designed for 1996, the full basement bus style Dolphin was available in four floor plans without slide-outs. Lengths range from 31-feet 9-inches to 34-feet 9-inches, all with front engines including two diesel models. Powered by Ford or Chevrolet gasoline engines or 190 HP Cummins 5.9L on an Oshkosh XC-18RDX or XC-19RDX chassis. Model 34D is also available with a 200 HP Cummins 5.9L on the Oshkosh XC-20RDX chassis.

The 1996 wide body Dolphin adds 3-inches of headroom and is available in five new floor plans, two with a slide-out. Powered by a Chevrolet 7.4L V-8, Ford 7.5L V-8, or 230 HP Cummins 5.9L all on front engine chassis'. Model 535 included a tag axle.

This year's Dolphin is available powered by a 340 HP GM Vortec V-8 gasoline engine on a Workhorse W-22 or W-24 chassis, or powered by a 362 HP Ford V-10 gasoline engine on a Ford Super-Duty F-53 chassis.
