Introduced in 1998, the Tradewinds was designed to be a new premium model bridging the gap between the top tier National RV motor home and the bottom tier of the newly merged Country Coach motor home company.

1998 Tradewinds

Introduced in 1998 the National RV Tradewinds was available in one floor plan with one slide. Built on a Freightliner XC chassis the 1998 Tradewinds was available powered by a 275 Hp or 300 HP Caterpillar 3126 turbo diesel.

1999 Tradewinds

The 1999 Tradewinds was available in three floor plans, all featuring one slide-out. Built on a Freightliner XC chassis the 1999 Tradewinds is powered by a 300 HP Caterpillar 3126B turbo diesel.

2000 Tradewinds

The 2000 Tradewinds was available in four floor plans, all featuring one slide-out. Built on a Freightliner XC chassis the Tradewinds is powered by a 300 HP Caterpillar 3126B turbo diesel.

2001 Tradewinds

In 2001 National RV introduced the Tradewinds LTC "Luxury Touring Class" edition as a companion to the Tradewinds. The LTC is powered by a 330 HP Caterpillar 3126 on a Freightliner XC chassis. Seven of the nine floor plans featured one slide-out while the 7390 and LTC 7390 featured two slide-outs.

2002 Tradewinds

All twelve 2002 Tradewinds featured two slide-outs. Lengths ranged from 34-feet, 10-inches to 39-feet, 1-inch. The basic and LE edition Tradewinds are powered by a 300 HP Caterpillar 3126E turbo diesel and 330 HP Caterpillar 3126B respectively. The LTC edition is powered by a 350 HP Cummins ISC turbo diesel. The basic and LE editions are on Freightliner XC raised rail chassis while the LTC is on a Spartan Summit GTi chassis.

2003 Tradewinds

2003 Tradewinds featured two slide-outs. Lengths ranged from 36-feet, 8-inches to 38-feet, 9-inches. The basic Tradewinds are powered by a 300 HP Caterpillar 3126B. The LTC edition is powered by a 350 HP Cummins ISC turbo diesel on a Freightliner XC or Country Coach DynoMax 8TD chassis ​The LE edition is powered by a 330 HP Caterpillar 3126B on a Spartan Summit GTi chassis.

2006 Tradewinds

All 2006 Tradewinds were 40-feet, 5-inches long on a Freightliner XC raised rail chassis with a GVWR of 32,000 pounds. Four floor plans were available, two with three slides and two with four slide-outs. They were powered by a 400 HP Cummins ISL turbo diesel engine.

2007 Tradewinds

All 2007 Tradewinds were 40-feet, 5-inches long on a Freightliner XC raised rail chassis with a GVWR of 32,000 pounds. Four floor plans were available, two with three slide-outs and two with four slide-outs. They were powered by a 400 HP Cummins ISL turbo diesel engine.
