In 1976 the Dolphin Camper Company invented the "micro-mini" motorhome making the Class "C" Dolphin their first motorhome. Ten years later the company name changed to National RV and introduced their first Class "A" motorhome and named it . . . Dolphin.

1980 Dolphin
Dolphin micro-mini Class C motorhomes were powered by a 2,189 cc engine on a Toyota chassis. In 1980 the 300 Tag was introduced as the first micro-mini motorhome to feature a tag axle and 4,650 pound GVWR. The Stretch 500 is 19-feet 6-inches with a GVWR of 4,600 pounds.

1982 Dolphin
The 1982 Dolphin is powered by a Ford V-6 (V-8 optional) on a Ford F-25 chassis or a 2.4L Toyota 2.4L gasoline engine on a Toyota chassis. The Dolphin was offered in four 20-foot 6-inch floor plans, the 300 Den, 500 Rear Dinette, 600 Full Bath, and 700 Rear Bedroom. The 600 and 700 were available only on the Toyota chassis.
